JUMP FOR THE CAUSE 2002
Participant Fundraising

Dear Participant:

WELCOME TO JUMP FOR THE CAUSE 2002, the Women's World Record Event!

Ok. You're one of the chosen. You've booked your plane ticket, what's next: Lots of jumps between now and then (of course) and some SERIOUS fundraising. Don't worry, it's easy! You will be amazed at how willing your friends, family, co-workers and yes, even total strangers will be to give you money.

Here are a couple of tried and true fundraising ideas:

We have drafted a sample solicitation letter for you to use. We suggest you personalize it, add a story about someone you know who has/had breast cancer. Then print out 100 copies. Self address and stamp 100 envelopes (SASE) and enclose 1 SASE and the letter in another envelope. Mail them to 100 friends/family, and SIT BACK AND WATCH THE MONEY ROLL IN!

At work: Ask your Human Resources Division if they have a matching funds program. If they do, we are a 501c3 and all you need do is e-mail Richard Seymour (our event manger) at rseymour12@earthlink.net, and he'll give you all the information you need. This way EVERY DOLLAR you raise is worth DOUBLE!

Also at work: Stick a bucket on your desk with your solicitation letter attached to it. Bug everyone to give you $10.00. You'll be shocked at how fast the money piles up!

Now why, you may ask, should you bother to raise more than the minimum?

1) PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES!!!! As usual, JFTC has solicited TONS of free stuff from the Skydiving Industry (and beyond)! And these goodies (rigs, canopies, jumpsuits, and gift certificates) will be given away as prizes to the top fundraisers. In addition to the monthly contest (to be held Oct 2001-June 2002) where the person who sends in the most money during the month will get a fabulous prize, we will be giving away BIG prizes at the event itself for the top 10 overall fundraisers.

2) PRIDE PRIDE PRIDE!!!!! Surely you don't want Ginger Kuhlmann to win two times in a row???? (Yes, Ginger, that is a direct challenge!) She brought in nearly $15,000 at the last event- who's gonna top her this time?!?!?

3) And most importantly, WE GOTTA STOP THIS DISEASE! Statistically speaking, out of every Otter Load of women, two of us will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

As time passes, there will be additional postings for you in the "Participants Info" area: forms to fill out, jumpsuits to order. But for now, get on the load and start raising money!

See you Oct 2002,

Blue Skies,
            Mally, Kate, Tony, and Brad
